Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Handy PR™ (operated by Handy App LLC), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our platform.

2. Platform Description

Handy PR™ is a marketplace that connects customers with independent handymen and contractors in Puerto Rico. Handy App LLC is a technology intermediary and is not itself a contractor or employer of service providers listed on the platform.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use this platform. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Bookings & Payments

  • All prices are displayed in U.S. Dollars (USD).
  • A deposit (30–40% of the total job price) is collected at booking to confirm the service.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe (card) or manually via ATH Móvil. We are not responsible for third-party payment processing errors.
  • Handy App LLC charges a platform fee on each transaction to facilitate matching, support, and platform operations.
  • Prices shown are estimates based on the information provided. Final pricing may vary based on actual job scope as assessed on-site.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Standard jobs: Full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Same-day jobs: 50% refund if cancelled within 2 hours of booking. No refund after that window.
  • Late cancellations: No refund if cancelled less than 24 hours before a standard job.
  • Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
  • Emergency or priority surcharges are non-refundable once the job has been assigned.

7. Independent Contractors

The contract for the requested services is entered into directly between the Customer and the independent Service Provider. Handy App LLC is not a party to that service contract. Handy App LLC only provides the technology platform, payment processing integration, and related marketplace services.

Service providers on Handy PR™ are independent contractors, not employees of Handy App LLC. We do not supervise, direct, or control the manner in which they perform their services. Handy App LLC is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of services performed by contractors.

8. Service Provider Obligations

Service providers using the platform agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about their skills, licenses, and availability.
  • Perform services in a professional and workmanlike manner.
  • Comply with all applicable Puerto Rico and U.S. laws and regulations.
  • Maintain any required licenses, permits, or insurance for their trade.
  • Not solicit customers directly to bypass the platform.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Tamper with pricing, payment flows, or platform systems.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse referral or promotional programs.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or compromise the platform's security.

10. Disputes Between Users

In the event of a dispute between a customer and a service provider, Handy App LLC may, at its sole discretion, assist in mediating a resolution. We are not obligated to resolve disputes and bear no liability for their outcome. Users agree to attempt resolution in good faith before involving Handy App LLC.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Handy App LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or services performed by contractors. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific job in dispute.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable U.S. federal law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Puerto Rico.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
